Three months before ITS Euro 2024, Germany is doing its last rehearsal in March. German coach Julian Nagelsmann has revealed his list of 26 names to face the France team and the Netherlands during this international break.
A long-awaited list with a more than significant presence in the squad. 2014 world champion Toni Kroos makes his comeback to the team. After announcing his international retirement after Euro 2021, the Real Madrid midfielder reversed his decision for one last dance this summer during Euro 2024.
“ Hi guys, to put it quickly, I will be playing for the German national team again starting in March. For what ? Because the coach asked me to, and because I’m up for it,” he announced on his Instagram account last February.
Julian Nagelsmann’s centerpiece in the midfield?
The return of Toni Kroos to the selection gives a new dimension to this German team which has struggled to appear intractable and attractive for several years. The world champion title in 2014 and the semi-final at Euro 2016 seem a long way away.
With the presence of Toni Kroos, the entire German people are dreaming again. He will undoubtedly be Nagelsmann’s centerpiece in the midfield. With a player like Florian Wirtz, Jamal Musiala or Ilkay Gundogan, the German midfield seems formidable.
During the European Championship, the Nationalmannschaft will be eagerly awaited by its public but also by the various observers. The Germans will open the ball on June 14 in Munich against Scotland (9 p.m.).
