It’s official for Qatar

Host country of the Asian Cup of Nations (and defending champion), Qatar followed up its second victory, Wednesday against Tajikistan (1-0), to qualify for the round of 16 of the competition.

Qatar is the first to qualify for the round of 16 of the Asian Nations Cup organized on its soil. The reigning Asian champion, after a 3-0 success against Lebanon in the opening match, beat Tajikistan (1-0), Wednesday afternoon, at the Al Bayt Stadium (the stadium of the semi-final of the 2022 World Cup between France and Morocco).

Already the author of a double five days ago, winger Akram Afif scored the only goal of the game for Al-Annabi against the Persian Lions (17th).

Qatar concludes with China, who are second after two 0-0 but in an unfavorable tie while the Tajiks and the Lebanese will face each other at the same time.
