Clearly, the ranking of the France Football 2024 Ballon d’Or is not unanimous. If Rodri’s election surprised more than one, other players are also surprised by their ranking.

This is the case of the Argentine striker of Inter Milan Lautaro Martinez. The captain of the Milan team who finished in 7th position returned to his ranking during an interview with DAZN.

“To be honest, I expected better than 7th place in the Ballon d’Or. Sometimes these rewards are unfair. I will work even harder to improve this position,” he blurted. The 27-year-old had a more than convincing 2023-2024 season by finishing as Italian champion (24 goals scored in Serie A) and winning the Copa America in the final by scoring the winning goal in the final against Colombia.

Under contract until June 2029

Lautaro Martinez is the real leader of this Inter Milan team. The Argentine striker is the face of the Milan project with whom he is under contract until June 2029. The number 10 extended his contract last August.

At the start of the year, the Albiceleste player is having a slightly more delicate start to the season. He has only found the net 4 times in Serie A and is 6 lengths behind the current top scorer in the League, Mateo Retegui (10 goals).
