Liverpool beat rivals Manchester United convincingly at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Reds managed to beat Erik ten Hag’s team 3-0 after a brilliant performance, making a statement in Arne Slot’s first big match of the season.

Following the departure of Jurgen Klopp this summer, it looked like Liverpool will struggle to get back to their best but under Slot, they have won all their matches this season and without conceding a single goal.

The Merseyside club are currently second in the league, only behind Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City on goal difference.

It could have been a lot worse for Man United at Old Trafford on Sunday and Jamie Carragher is unhappy with one of the Liverpool players who could have scored an easy goal but made the situation complicated.

Dominik Szoboszlai had a golden opportunity to score against Man United but he made the situation complicated and left it too late to score, allowing the opposition players to close him down and clear the danger.

Carragher was unhappy with the Liverpool star and slammed him during the commentary on Sky Sports.

‘What is he doing? Is he trying to be cocky?’ asked Carragher while on Sky Sports commentary, as quoted by the Daily Mail.

‘If United get one back the crowd gets up, we saw yesterday what happened to Everton,’ he continued.

‘That’s ridiculous that from Szoboszlai. That’s just ridiculous, it’s unprofessional.’

The former Liverpool defender mentioned how Everton lost the match against Bournemouth just one day earlier after leading 2-0 in the last few minutes of the match.

Bournemouth came back from 2-0 down to win 3-2, showing that if you take your chances and finish them off, nothing is impossible.

Liverpool won easily against Man United at Old Trafford

Carragher feared the same could have happened to Liverpool when Szoboszlai failed to score. However, that was not the case.

The Merseyside club won 3-0 comfortably and managed to keep Man United quiet for the duration of the match.

It is a remarkable result for a manager who has just joined the team two months ago against a team that is building their squad for three seasons and spending money handsomely in the transfer market.
