IMG Credit: WWEWhat could have been. There are very few times when a wrestler comes into WWE and makes an immediate impact as they go straight to the top of the card. While promoting her new book during a LiveSigning video, former WWE Superstar Ronda Rousey spoke about a potential singles match with Becky Lynch. Rousey said that WWE “constantly” dangled the match in front of her during her 2022 return but then never actually offered it to her. She described the match as what she “really wanted”. The build was there. Check out Lynch and Rousey:
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that WWE would have done back in the day, as Rousey vs. Lynch would certainly have been a major showdown if it could have been put together. At the same time, I’m not sure why WWE would not have wanted to present the match, as it easily could have headlined a pay per view. I’m not sure I can imagine the match taking place down the line, which is a shame, but WWE seems to have no one to blame but themselves.
How would such a match have gone? When should it have happened? Let us know in the comments below.
