Brentford striker Ivan Toney is reportedly now more likely to join Tottenham over West Ham United as his clear preference emerges.
The England international looks like he could be a fine option for a number of clubs in the top half of the Premier League, and he’ll surely want a new challenge after showing what he’s capable of at Brentford for the last few years.
According to latest reports, Toney has been wanted by both Spurs and West Ham, but his choice now would most likely be to link up with Ange Postecoglou in north London, as they haven’t been pursuing other strikers as well, unlike the Hammers.
West Ham have also held talks over signing Jhon Duran from Aston Villa, while Jonathan David has also been linked, but Tottenham have largely just focused on Toney as their priority.

While West Ham could be a good move for Toney and he’d surely be first choice there if he did join, it perhaps makes sense for the player to favour Tottenham instead as they’ve clearly been planning for some time for how they can build around him.
THFC lost Harry Kane to Bayern Munich last summer and never really replaced him, with a signing like Toney looking ideal to help the team improve this term.
