One of the popular tag teams in WWE is the Viking Raiders. The duo of Erik and Ivar are former NXT and WWE Raw Tag Team Champions. Recently, Ivar opened up about how much time he has left as a professional wrestler.
Back in 2020, the former Raw Tag Team Champion suffered a neck injury and was forced to undergo surgery. It was during an eight-man tag team match on an episode of Monday Night Raw. Erik, Ivar, Apollo Crews, and Ricochet teamed up to take on The Hurt Business. As Ivar suffered an injury, the match came to an abrupt injury. The injury took away almost seven months of his wrestling career. Recently, Ivar was interviewed on the Busted Open Radio podcast. During the interview, the Viking Raider opened up about WWE’s change in management. But while it is a positive change, it is a bit overwhelming and emotional for Ivar. He is not sure how much time he has left in the Sports Entertainment industry. That doubt is because of the neck injury he suffered about four years ago.
“The energy is so crazy and it’s so different than it was a few years ago with the change of management too, so the whole atmosphere is just completely different and it just feels special at all times and it can be overwhelming and emotional to have a journey that I’ve had and be here now and not know how much longer I have left, especially with my neck injury a few years ago. So, it’s just every time I go out there, I’m wrestling like it might be my last.” [H/T POST Wrestling]
This past Friday Night on WrestleMania SmackDown, Ivar was the runner-up in the Andre The Giant Battle Royal.
