Jack Perry made an impact in his NJPW in-ring debut.

At NJPW 52nd Anniversary, House of Torture helped Jack Perry defeat Shota Umino to advance to the next round of the New Japan Cup. This marked Perry’s first match since AEW All In in August, as he was suspended following a backstage incident with CM Punk. Perry has not appeared on AEW programming since, but he showed up at NJPW Battle in the Valley and ripped up what appeared to be an AEW contract.

Jack Perry: Everyone Is Afraid To Let Me Come Back Or Let Me Go

In his post-match comments, Jack Perry commented on his return to the ring. He noted that he had been sidelined because other people were afraid. Perry stated that he found some people who had his back in House of Torture.

“I feel amazing. You want to know why? I haven’t had a wrestling match in six months,” Jack Perry said. “Just for a little point of reference, during the absolute worst time in my entire life, I took one month for me. So now you wonder, why six months now? I’ll tell you what, it ain’t because of me. It’s because other people are afraid. Nobody want to have the difficult conversations. Everyone’s afraid to let me come back, or even let me go. Even when I f*cking ask for it.

“But you know what, I get it. Nobody wants to look in the mirror. So they need somebody to pin up on a cross so they can go about their daily lives and act like nothing ever happened. Well, guess what? That’s over now. There’s a very select handful of people in the world who still have my back, but tonight, I think I found a few more. [Holds up House of Torture shirt].”
