Jack Perry is going to AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
At AEW Double or Nothing, TNT Champion Adam Copeland beat Malakai Black in a Barbed Wire Steel Cage match to retain the title. However, Copeland was forced to relinquish the title, as he suffered a fractured tibia in the match. AEW then announced that a new champion would be crowned in a Ladder Match at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
The latest qualifier for the title match was held on the June 12 episode of AEW Dynamite. There, former AEW World Tag Team Champion Jack Perry beat Dustin Rhodes to qualify for the title match. Rhodes was busted open badly in the match.
Perry is riding plenty of momentum, as he helped The Elite score the win against Team AEW in the Anarchy in the Arena match at AEW Double or Nothing.
With the win, Perry joined Konosuke Takeshita and Mark Briscoe in the title match.
