Pep Guardiola will reportedly receive £100 million ($131 million) in transfer funds in January if Manchester City decide to spend.

The reigning Premier League champions have been surprisingly quiet over the summer, with Savinho – a player already part of the City Football Group – the only one to sign a cash transfer.

Former captain Ilkay Gundogan has returned to the Etihad Stadium as a free agent after leaving Barcelona.

A fortune in winter

City bosses are still waiting to learn their fate in a long-running financial fair play case – while also engaging in their own legal row with the Premier League – but are prepared to spend more money if manager Pep Guardiola feels additions are needed.

According to The Sun, the Catalan coach will be given a nine-figure fee to work with in the new year if City believe the reinforcements will keep them in contention for further major honours. That budget has been boosted by the summer sales of Julian Alvarez, Joao Cancelo and Taylor Harwood-Bellis.
