Jacob Fatu paid back the money from Jake’s Network of Hope back in June, the charity revealed.
Last year, he was booked to appear at a charity event for Jake’s Network of Hope. However, he had to pull out at the last minute after being paid to appear.
The charity reported that Jacob Fatu has not repaid the booking fee while signing for the WWE in the meantime. They claimed he owed them $2,633 from his no-show. They spoke with Sports Illustrated recently to reveal they were dealing with the issue privately with the wrestler to resolve it.
However, it turns out that the accusation he had yet to repay them was false. Jacob Fatu returned the money he was paid by the Jake’s Network of Hope. In a statement to Fightful Select, they admitted that Jacob Fatu made the payment via PayPal in June 2024.
The charity added that they overlooked the payment. They didn’t notice it before going to publications like Sports Illustrated to recoup the money. Jenn Harper of Jake’s Network of Hope issued the following statement to Fightful, mentioning he apologized for missing the show and wishing him well in the WWE.
“In May, Jacob Fatu reached out with a heartfelt apology, initiating a meaningful dialogue that allowed us to work together with all parties involved to find solutions and fully resolve the matter. This event aimed to confront the challenging realities of poverty and the immense obstacles to overcoming it. While not everything unfolded perfectly, we are grateful for the awareness raised around diaper need and the substantial costs of providing essential products to families.
We especially want to thank NOW Wrestling for their incredible support. Their commitment to raising awareness, along with their generous donation of 50/50 raffle proceeds from recent events, has been invaluable in advancing our mission to end diaper need. We’re also deeply appreciative of the wrestling organizations and media outlets that helped spotlight this cause, underscoring the importance of addressing poverty and meeting basic needs.
As Jacob Fatu embarks on his WWE journey, we wish him every success and are inspired by the solidarity shown across the wrestling community in support of this critical mission.”
