Jadon Sancho is already an injury doubt for Borussia Dortmund.
The Bundesliga outfit take on Heidenheim on Friday but Sancho could miss the trip due to an adductor muscle problem.
However, Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic has been quick to lay the blame at Manchester United for Sancho’s latest setback.
Since his loan switch to Dortmund earlier this month, Sancho has played in all three of their games. The 23-year-old’s most recent performance prior to that came in August amid a breakdown in communications with United manager Erik ten Hag.
“Jadon currently has muscular problems in the adductor area, which is not surprising after his long break,” Terzic said Wednesday, as per the Manchester Evening News.
“We will wait and see how things develop over the next two days and decide at short notice whether he will travel with us to Heidenheim.”
Ten Hag left Sancho out of United’s squad for the 3-1 defeat against Arsenal, citing his performance in training. The England international responded on social media with an ill-advised statement claiming he has being made a “scapegoat”, and he refused to apologise to the manager who proceeded to leave him out in the cold.
The United outcast may have returned to familiar surroundings in Dortmund, where he is adored after his previous spell at the club, but he still has a lot to prove between now and the end of the season.
Especially if he plans to attract interest from bigger clubs around Europe.
