Jadon Sancho is holding out for a move to Chelsea, despite reports stating that Juventus had reached an agreement with Juventus over a transfer.
Juventus are persisting with their efforts to sign Sancho on loan, potentially with an obligation to buy, but it sounds like the player would pick London over Turin.
The Guardian claims Chelsea have held talks with United over a swap deal involving Raheem Sterling, who has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge.
That same report stresses that Sancho is thought to have indicated a preference to join Enzo Maresca’s side over Juventus.
The situation is understood to be open and Juventus don’t feel they are completely out of the running to sign their target, after selling Federico Chiesa to Lierpool.
Maresca doesn’t play down Sancho links
Even though Chelsea have no shortage of wide players, Maresca didn’t downplay links to Sancho when asked ahead of Chelsea’s Europa League Conference League play-off in Geneva on Thursday night.
“If we have to sign a player just for signing, I don’t want it,” Maresca said. “But if we can sign a player who can help us, for sure I want it. Jadon is not our player. I know Jadon very well from many years with [Manchester] City. I know him very well. But he is not our player. We will see what happens.”
Chelsea beat the Swiss side 2-0 at Stamford Bridge last week.
