Jadon Sancho joined German club Borussia Dortmund only a week ago but he is already making a huge impact at the club.
The English attacker made his second debut for the club at the weekend and provided an assist in Dortmund’s 3-0 win against Darmstadt. The 23-year-old didn’t take long to prove to the Dortmund supporters what they had been lacking.
Sancho, with his deft agility and boundless enthusiasm, hadn’t looked like he hadn’t played football in four months.
The wide attacker has been rewarding Dortmund for believing in him in ways more than just on the field.
According to the German newspaper BILD, Dortmund will pay United €3 million (£2.5 million) for Sancho’s services till the end of the season.
In the club’s first week of sales, Sancho’s number-ten shirt has reportedly generated over 5,000 purchases, according to BILD.
Dortmund and its suppliers have already made up to €500,000 in sales thanks to Sancho.
The amount of views Dortmund’s social media pages have received has significantly increased as well, as supporters have flocked to the club shop to get their Sancho jerseys.
The Manchester United flop is loved and adored at the Signal Iduna Park and built a close relationship with the fans during his four-year stay at the club.
With Dortmund getting benefit on and off the pitch, they would hope to keep Sancho beyond the end of the season and keep him for a longer period.
They might even consider to make his loan move permanent if he helps the German club climb up the Bundesliga standings.
