Borussia Dortmund head coach Edin Terzic has revealed Jadon Sancho’s ambition is to force his way back into the England team.

It’s not like Sancho is making a last-minute plea to make Gareth Southgate’s squad for Euro 2024 because we already know that won’t happen.

Sancho has not won an England cap since October 2021 when he made is 23th appearance. In those games, the winger scored three goals.

There is, however, a good chance that this will be Southgate’s final major tournament as England manager. That will give players, who are regularly left out of Southgate’s squad, hope that they will soon have a chance again.

Sancho is currently preparing for the Champions League final with his Borussia Dortmund teammates ahead of Saturday’s showdown at Wembley.

Terzic, hosting a press conference earlier today, said (via Manchester Evening News): “I think you can see that he is very happy with us, with the group. To be honest, I didn’t speak to him about the English national team. This is one of his personal targets [to get a call-up] and I am quite sure that he would love to be involved with the national team. Also, from my point of view, I also think that he deserves to be involved with the national team of England.”
