Now on Sunday, really bad news on Jamaal Lascelles from the club.

Newcastle United official announcement on Jamaal Lascelles – 31 March 2024:

‘Newcastle United can confirm that club captain Jamaal Lascelles suffered a rupture to the ACL in his right knee during Saturday’s victory over West Ham United.

After seeing a specialist consultant, he is expected to undergo surgery next week and will be out for 6-9 months.

Earlier this month, Jamaal Lascelles had his contract extended.

The NUFC club captain was set to see his then current deal end on 30 June 2024.

However, Newcastle United have triggered an extension clause, meaning Jamaal Lascelles is now contracted to NUFC until 30 June 2025.
