James Gunn and DC Studios have announced an upcoming new movie! The co-CEO of the film studio for DC Comics shared the exciting news of the animated film Dynamic Duo on social media on Tuesday (October 1). Keep reading to find out more… “Over the moon excited to announce the newest DC Studios/Warner Bros Pictures Animation greenlit film for theaters, DYNAMIC DUO, the story of Robin… or should I say, Robins, as in Dick Grayson and Jason Todd. The first feature film from the visionary Swaybox, a mix of animation, puppetry, and CGI, a script from the wonderfully talented Matt Aldrich, produced with our partners at Matt Reeves’ 6th & Idaho. This is something special,” James shared online. “I couldn’t be more wowed by what Swaybox is doing. That plus Matthew’s magnificent script made this an easy LET’S GO,” he replied to a fan on Threads. As mentioned, the film is in partnership with Matt Reeves and his production company, who is directing the upcoming The Batman sequel. It is currently unknown if Dynamic Duo will fit in with the DCU or if it will be a standalone movie, joining the DC Elseworlds lineup, which includes The Batman, Joker: Folie a Deux, Teen Titans Go and more. Elseworlds projects are not part of the connected universe of DC projects. Speaking of The Batman, get the latest updates on the upcoming second film, which will see the return of Robert Pattinson as the caped crusader. James is currently in the post-production phase of the upcoming new Superman film, which wrapped filming over the summer. That will be the first film released as part of the new DCEU!
