Klopp joined in 2015 and has led to the club to wins in every major trophy, including the Premier League and Champions League.

Many Liverpool fans were unsurprisingly devastated with the news given his immense success during a glittering spell in charge.

However, his departure will come as music to the ears of rivals, with Manchester United legend Neville not shy to express his joy.

He did so by messaging his friend and former Liverpool defender Carragher - who was on a skiing holiday when he found out.

Speaking on The Overlap, Carragher said: "So I wake up and I get the Klopp news. [Neville] then texts me - he's actually in the same place skiing - and I'm like, 'Oh no.'

Trying not to laugh as he read out the text to Roy Keane and Ian Wright, he said: "He wrote 'I'm in Courchevel, your manager is f****** off and that's you lot f***** for another 30 years.'"

Klopp could be set for a fairytale ending to his Liverpool stint as they could win what would be a historic quadruple.

The Reds sit top of the Premier League table and five points clear of Manchester City, although they have game in hand.
