Jamie Lee Curtis opened up about reuniting with Lindsay Lohan and Chad Michael Murray on the set of Freaky Friday 2. Production on the long-awaited sequel to the trio’s 2003 comedy began earlier this summer. Since, all three stars have been spotted together on set. In a recent interview, the 65-year-old Oscar winner said that filming was coming to a close in the next few weeks. It’s expected to premiere in theaters in 2025. During the conversation, she reflected on working with her two costars again. More specifically, she teased what to expect from Chad‘s return and reflected on Lindsay balancing motherhood with her big role. Keep reading to find out more… “Lindsay’s a mommy,” Jamie told Variety. If you were unaware, the actress welcomed her first child, a son named Luai, with husband Bader Shammas in July 2023. Jamie continued, saying, “Little Luai just had his first birthday a week ago. It changes you as a human, being a parent. She’s very conservative, so I was like, ‘Relax. Relax.’ Luai’s just starting to walk. She’s at that point where toddlers hold onto things, then they wobble, then they go down. She’s at work, and she’s watching on her phone.” “She’s watching videos on livestream with the baby in between scenes. She’s watching her child start toddling, and it’s just very sweet. She’s great. She’s very happy. We’re having a really, really, really fun time,” she gushed. The actress noted that fans should be very excited to see Chad onscreen again. “All of a sudden, the Chad Michael Murray character comes into the story, and I’m telling you, the entire room changed,” Jamie said about a table read they did. “Every woman in the room was leaning forward. The laughter, the applause that he got!” She continued, saying, “After the table read, I walked up to the director and producers. I was like, ‘We need to stretch that taffy. He is gold. His character is just so fabulous.’ Jake is back, in a big, big way.” All but two stars from the cast of the first movie will return for the new project. Check out the full cast list.
