Janai Kai realizes that people sometimes don’t know how to take her but she is fine with that, as long as they are reacting.
WrestleZone recently spoke with former MLW Women’s Featherweight Champion Janai Kai, who was asked if there’s something from her career she’d like more attention on.
She spoke about how her hard-hitting, aggressive style can sometimes confuse fans about whether to boo or cheer her. However, Janai Kai is fine with people taking her in different ways and just making them feel something is what appeals to her.
“Well, I know for a fact that a lot of people don’t know how to really get from me when I am out in the ring or anything like that.” Janai Kai said. “Even if they see how I look, they don’t know how to take me. They don’t know either to cheer or boo for me. I hear different things when I am wrestling my style. A lot of people think my style is cool. But at the same time, I am very aggressive. So, people don’t know if I’m like… They are getting a little uncomfortable.”
“But they are like, ‘You know this is actually cool. Hard-hitting. All right.’ Or they’re just like, ‘All right, I don’t know man. I think I’m going to boo her because this is just too much for me.’ So, people take me in many different ways. That’s fine with me as long as I am getting some sort of emotion out of them. Like, they feel something out of just watching me wrestle. That’s what means a lot to me. I am very much just hope that when that happens to them, and they pay attention to that when it comes to the wrestling,” added Janai Kai.
