After some technical difficulties, MLW rescheduled the stream of their Lucha Apocalypto event for Sunday.

The self-proclaimed Kick Demon, Janai Kai, successfully defended her MLW World Women’s Featherweight Championship in a triple treat match against two Amazonians of the CMLL: the vetaran, Lluvia, and the 2024 CMLL Universal Amazons Championship winner, Persephone.

With a sixteen-minute time limit, the member of the contra unit stable was able to score the win with the demon clutch (a modified dragon sleeper) by making Persephone tap out. With this, Janai Kai was able to continue her 13-month-long reign, nearing 400 days as champ.

Post-match, the previous champion Delmi Exo, The God Queen, with a pretty crown and the Mexican flag in her arm, interrupted the champion celebration, stating that stealing “El Jefe” Cesar Duran was Contra Unit’s biggest mistake. She said that the champ underestimated the power of Azteca Lucha and said that the people in attendance would want to see her teeth kick in, RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW!

Janai Kai “accepts.” When Delmi tried to make her way into the ring, she was able to avoid an attack by a member of the Contra Unit with a chair shot to the back, and then as she made her way to the ring, the Kick Demon was able to escape.

You can watch the match and the whole event on the MLW YouTube channel, or you can watch the video down below.
