Taapsee Pannu in Shabaash Mithu

The 2022 biographical sports drama – directed by Srijit Mukherji, stars Taapsee Pannu and is based on the life of Mithali Raj – the former Test and ODI captain of the India women’s national cricket team. It chronicled the ups and downs of Mithali’s life. The film grossed less than a tenth of its budget at the box office. It was declared a box office disaster.

Saiyami Kher in Ghoomer

Ghoomer tells the story of a bright and upcoming batting prodigy who loses her right hand in a freak accident. With the guidance of failed test cricketer, Padam ‘Paddy’ Singh Sodhi (Abhishek), Anina ‘Ani’ Dixit transforms into a bowler – more specifically a ghoomer/spinner, and competes to qualify for the Indian women’s team.
