Matt Damon had an idea for an Arrested Development movie that would have made fans very happy, according to Jason Bateman. The 56-year-old actor starred in the hit television show, which released five seasons between 2003 and 2019. During an appearance on the Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast, Jason revealed a conversation that he had with Matt about making a movie to continue the story. However, he wasn’t sure that there was enough interest. Keep reading to find out more… “I remember Matt Damon coming up to me at—I think it was like a Golden Globes or something—and I was so excited to meet him and, and he was a huge fan of Arrested Development,” Jason recalled, via Variety. “And he was saying, ‘You know, I really think I could play, because I hear you guys are doing the movie, I think I could—can I play you?’” Jason said that series creator Mitchell Hurwitz “was thinking the story of the Arrested Development movie would be that in the show, Hollywood wanted to make a movie about [the Bluth family], and we certainly couldn’t play ourselves, because we’re not actors.” However, he didn’t think that it would get off the ground, saying, “I don’t think anybody gives a s-it. I think it’s done.” We just recently got a look at Matt on the set of a seriously star-studded project.
