Jason Momoa has landed a completely new role in the DC Universe franchise after playing Aquaman for several years! You may remember, last year around this time, a rumor spread that the 45-year-old actor could be connected to the DC villain role of Lobo. Deadline now reports that he’s portraying the role in the upcoming Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow! Milly Alcock is starring in the title role. When originally asked about the rumor in 2023, Jason said he hadn’t been called or asked to audition. Now, there appears to be an update! Keep reading to find out more… Today, Jason shared his quote from last year, denying he had been given the role of Lobo after starring as Aquaman in several DC Universe movies. Last year’s quote, which was reposted to Instagram on Monday (December 30), read: “So, Lobo… I used to collect comics and I don’t do so much anymore, but he was always my favorite. And I’ve always wanted to play Lobo because I’m like, ‘Hello?.’ It’s pretty perfect. It’s the perfect role. I mean, listen, if they call me and ask me to play it? It’s a f*** yeah. But, I mean, that’s a guarantee. So, you don’t have to worry about that. But, I haven’t received that call. So, I don’t want to put any fake news out there but if they ever call me and ask me to play, or ask me to audition, I’m there.” Well, in the major update, Jason wrote, “They called” as the caption! According to a fan site, “Lobo is an intergalactic bounty hunter, the last Czarnian. Known for his colorful speech and rapid regeneration, he has been a nuisance more than a threat.” See which 5 DC Universe stars are NOT reprising roles in future films, and which 3 are confirmed to return.
