On Thursday, videos of Jaya Bachchan taking a spiritual outing during Durga Puja began to circulate on social media, highlighting a delightful moment between her and fellow actress Kajol.
Amid the lively celebrations at North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja Pandal, Jaya and Kajol’s heartfelt reunion rekindled memories of their iconic roles in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. Ranbir Kapoor was also spotted seeking blessings at the pandal.
Jaya Bachchan showers love on Kajol
Jaya Bachchan attended the Durga Puja festivities at a pandal being managed by Kajol and Rani Mukerji this year. The outing, which took place just hours before her husband Amitabh Bachchan’s 82nd birthday, captured the attention of fans online.
In the footage, Jaya’s face lit up with joy as she affectionately showered Kajol with kisses, or pucchis, against the colourful backdrop of the Durga Puja pandal. The genuine warmth and happiness shared between the two actresses were evident as they embraced and engaged in cheerful conversation. Kajol mirrored Jaya’s joy, feeling cherished and grateful for their interaction.
Dressed elegantly, Jaya Bachchan adorned a beautiful yellow saree while Kajol opted for a vibrant, multicoloured saree. Surrounded by a sea of devotees, the duo stood out with their grace and traditional attire, a nostalgic reminder of their on-screen chemistry. Jaya and Sumona Chakravarti were caught catching up at the Durga Puja pandal.
Ranbir Kapoor spotted at Kajol and Rani’s Durga Puja pandal
Ranbir Kapoor was also spotted at the Durga Puja pandal. The Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani actor was seen dressed in a Grey coloured sweatshirt, and white coloured pyjamas. Ranbir was seen doing a namaste to the crowd and flashed his iconic smile.
Rani Mukerji was seen draped in a gorgeous mustard-yellow silk saree. She completed her Bengali look by wearing a shakha-pola, a long gold necklace, earrings and kangan.
Ishita Dutta and her husband Vatsal Seth were also seen at the Durga Puja pandal with their child, Vayu. Ishita was seen draped in a Yellow handloom saree while Vatsal wore a Lemon Yellow coloured kurta with white pyjamas. What caught our attention was little Vayu asleep in his dad’s arms.
Details of the Celebration
Jaya is a familiar face at the North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja Pandal. It has been relocated from Tulip Star Hotel to the SNDT University grounds, Juhu this year due to maintenance. Kajol and Rani are hosting the pandal. Several celebrities like Jaya Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Sumona Chakravarti, Ishita Dutta, Vatsal Seth, Tanisha Mukerji, and Sharvari were spotted.
