JBL found new enemies in the New Day after making an appearance on Raw last night.

After appearing at TNA Genesis on Sunday, JBL was advertised to be a part of Monday Night Raw on January 20th. This is the former WWE Champion’s first appearance in WWE since the move to Netflix at the start of the year.

The WWE Hall of Famer appeared backstage before Rey Mysterio battled Kofi Kingston on Raw. He met up with The New Day. They attempted to bribe him with two dollars to be on their side for the match.

JBL, who was the special guest commentator for the match, was having none of it. They mentioned how ditching Ron Simmons to become the JBL character was the best thing that ever happened to his career. The former WWE Champion fired back, saying that the pair were now out of the shadow of the charismatic and lovable Big E. He mentioned now people will have to pay attention to them instead of Big E.

This did not go down well with Kofi and Xavier Woods, who stormed off and prepared for the match. JBL made his way onto commentary for the match. He was firmly against what the pair did to Big E at the end of last year.

The New Day continued to confront JBL at ringside while beating down Rey Mysterio. However, the WWE Hall of Famer countered the SOS and rolled up Kofi Kingston to win the match. This was after Xavier Woods had already been removed from ringside due to interference. JBL watched on from ringside with mixed feelings as he had ran down Mysterio all throughout the match.

Woods and Kingston attacked Rey Mysterio after the bell before the LWO came out to make the save. This looks to be setting up a tag team match for next week. JBL watched on without hitting anybody with a Clothesline from Hell, like he has done in TNA over the past few months.
