JBL On MJF: Proud To Support This True American Hero, The World Is Lucky To Have Him

It seems like JBL is a big fan of MJF.

The former AEW World Champion has taken a new turn with his character in recent weeks. After beating Will Ospreay to win the AEW International Championship, he quickly adopted an arrogant American patriot character.

This involved numerous changes, including swapping the International Title for the AEW American Championship. MJF has been running down other countries (and certain parts of America), and he dressed like Hulk Hogan for his match with Michael Oku in RevPro.

This has drawn comparisons to JBL’s more “patriotic” gimmick in the WWE in 2004. He started literally defending the border, which led to Eddie Guerrero’s mother having a (storyline) heart attack.

Their overly patriotic heel characters have many similarities, which may explain why JBL likes MJF’s current run.

JBL replied to a tweet from MJF, which compared his current character to JBL. MJF thanked JBL for his advice and approval, calling him an “American Hero”.

“To be a true American Hero you have to thank your forefathers. I’m dedicating today to my good friend @JCLayfield the Wrestling God. Thanks for all your sage advice and your stamp of approval!”

Never one to shy away from praise, JBL directly responded to this Tweet. He also called MJF an American hero before stating that the world is lucky to have the former AEW World Champion.

“Proud to wholeheartedly support this True American Hero. The world is lucky to have MJF.”

MJF: I Won The Bidding War Of 2024

MJF says he walked out the real winner of the Bidding War of 2024.

In an interview with WrestleTalk, MJF commented on the bidding war of 2024 and claimed that he won, as he claimed that he’s “rich as sh*t”.

“I won. I’m f**king rich as sh*t. It’s f**king crazy dude,” MJF said. ” I literally… you don’t f**king understand… I have so much money. It’s hilarious. The whole locker room f**king hates me because they all know how much I’m making, and they… it’s peanuts in comparison.

“And I’m only 28. So you’ve got guys walking around in their 40s that have given their body to this industry, they’re like dying practically, and they aren’t even making a fraction of what I make. It’s f**king great. Tony [Khan]… I mean, my god, my god, showed me the number – signed fast. Fast. Anyway, so yes, I won, to answer your question.”
