JBL told a hilarious story about being crushed by a horse and how Vince McMahon reacted.
JBL and Gerald Brisco told the story on an episode of Stories with Brisco and Bradshaw,. The episode also featured Ryan and Nic Nemeth as special guests. The WWE Hall of Famers recalled the tale of JBL claiming he could ride a horse for a TV segment. They quickly learned that was a lie, when the horse “took a bump” and lay on top of the former WWE Champion.
The discussion began with Nic Nemeth talking about some advice Jim Cornette gave him. He told him to always say “yes” when asked if he could do something, no matter what the opportunity. This led Brisco to recall the tale.
“We asked Layfield (JBL) one time if he could ride a horse. He said ‘Yes I can’ and he rode a horse out and the damn horse took a bump on him!” Gerald Brisco told JBL, Nic and Ryan Nemeth. “That horse was used to that much ass on the back!”
JBL then jumped in an explained what happened in the aftermath of the “horse bump”. He revealed that Vince McMahon walked in and noticed him being crushed by the horse, and asked him what he did to make the horse do that.
“Finally, when they come to the back and see this horse laying on top of me. This horse is lying on top of me. Vince comes over and says, ‘What’d you do to that horse?’ Damn thing, that horse almost killed me!”
Gerald Brisco then piped up, joking that Vince McMahon told him to go and buy a new horse after it crushed JBL.
“I told her we’re gonna have to pay for that horse. ‘Briscoe, go buy a new horse!'”
