Jeff Jarrett shared an emotional message,

Jeff Jarrett will compete in the 2024 Owen Hart Foundation Cup Tournament. He was close friends with Owen Hart, and he has discussed their bond over the years.

In a promo during the June 22 episode of AEW Collision, Jeff Jarrett discussed what competing in the tournament means to him.

“When I was asked officially about being in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, all the emotion came back,” Jeff Jarrett said. “It’s hard for me to imagine it’s been 25 years, but there’s so many things about Owen that I remember like it was yesterday. In the late 90s, we could become tag team champions. I look back on those days as favorite days of my career. His passing in May 1999, May 23, on that Monday, the following day, I made a promise to myself, that I would be able to look Oje and Athena [Owen’s children] in their eyes when it really meant something. They were little kids when it happened. To let them know what a great man their father is….I’ve never met anybody like him. I’m a 12-time former world heavyweight champion.

“I’m a two-time Hall of Famer. The Owen means more to me than anything I’ve ever done. Earlier this year, Toby Keith passed away, another good buddy of mine. He had that song, about as good as I once was, but I’m good once as I ever was. To get the opportunity to win three matches and stand in the middle of the ring in Owen’s hometown of Calgary, I’m absolutely going to do it.”
