WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett heard running an event at The Sphere is very expensive.

Wrestling fans continue to buzz about the possibility of a company holding an event at the venue. Fightful Select previously reported that promotions inquired about it, and UFC 306 emanating from The Sphere sparked the excitement. The event generated $22 million in ticket sales, leading some to again consider the prospect of wrestling coming to The Sphere. But doing so might be costly.

Speaking on his My World podcast, Jeff Jarrett said that he heard it costs $20 million to run a show at the venue. (H/t Skylar Russell of Fightful)

“I heard the number was 20 million,” Jarrett said. “Wembley Stadium, next week Arthur Ashe, built for tennis, wrestling next Wednesday but it ain’t cheap. When I put on my promoter cap and really look at the [return on investment] on what do you have to charge, and I know you’re not gonna get it back on the live event, it’s just I would say impossible. To run a show in the sphere, I don’t see it happening within the next twelve months. I just don’t. I may be wrong, but you’ve got to gross a boatload of revenue just to get to sea level.”

Jarrett went on to note that any event would have to generate a lot of revenue to match that cost for a wrestling promotion.
