Jelly Roll was very impressed by Austin Theory‘s performance this year at Summerslam.
The rapper/singer made an appearance at WWE SummerSlam in Cleveland. He was originally advertised to sing “God Bless America”, but ended up in an impromptu segment with Austin Theory.
The angle ended up with Jelly Roll hitting Theory with a chair, before throwing him into the air with one of the most impressive chokeslams seen in a WWE ring for a long time.
The rapper ended by joining The Miz and R-Truth in hitting Austin Theory with John Cena’s “Five Knuckle Shuffle”, creating an unforgettable moment for Jelly Roll.
Jelly Roll recently appeared on the ImPaulsive podcast, and spoke with Logan Paul about his Summerslam appearance. He complimented Austin Theory, claiming that he made him look “like a rock star”.
The rapper added that he wanted to have a top three moment, which he definitely managed.
Jelly Roll on Austin Theory
“It was so good!” Jelly Roll told Logan Paul. “I caught the bug in a way that I’ve never caught it before. I caught it so much that I think I’m going to buy a ring. It was just—it was awesome, dude. And to shoot on it for a second, because I haven’t gotten to do this yet, Austin Theory is a superhero. He’s a fucking hero, is what he is. That dude made me look like a rock star. I love that dude and will forever because he told me the whole night, ‘I got you, dog. Trust me.'”
“Earlier that night, I sat down with R-Truth and The Miz and said, ‘Look, y’all, if we do this right, we should have a top three viral moment.’ I was like, ‘Roman’s return, Logan’s flip, and our Five Knuckle Shuffle and chokeslam—that should be the three moments.'”
