NWSL Denver has hired its first employee. Jen Millet was named club president on Thursday and will oversee all business operations for the club. Millet has enjoyed a long career in the sports and entertainment industries, most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer at Bay FC.
“Jen’s understanding of soccer, building world-class brands, ability to engage the community, and passion for creating a culture of excellence made her the ideal fit to run our club,” controlling owner Rob Cohen said in a statement announcing the hire. “Our ownership group is committed to providing Jen the resources she needs to grow and evolve Denver NWSL as the club takes shape.”
Millet has experience in sports beyond soccer. Before joining Bay she was Chief Marketing Officer for the NBA’s Golden State Warriors. She has also worked for Pandora Radio, StubHub, and Live Nation.
The job with the NWSL’s 16th club will be a homecoming for Millet, who grew up in Denver and attended Cherry Creek High School. Last month the club announced a partnership with Cherry Creek School District to build a training center and temporary stadium. That partnership includes a donation to the district, access to tickets, and opportunities for internships.
“I am incredibly honored and excited to be named president of NWSL Denver,” Millet said. “Returning to my hometown to lead this groundbreaking franchise is a dream come true. I am passionate about building a club that not only excels on the field but also fosters a strong connection with our diverse community. Together, we will create a culture of excellence and innovation, bringing the joy of women’s soccer to Denver and inspiring the next generation of athletes. I can’t wait to get started.”
NWSL Denver is expected to announce a permanent name and begin making soccer hires soon. The club will enter the National Women’s Soccer League alongside Boston Legacy FC in 2026.
