Jenna Bush Hager announced on Thursday’s episode of ‘Today with Hoda and Jenna” that she was involved in a car accident.
“I got in one total wreck in my own driveway of late,” Bush Hager confessed to “Today” show personality Willie Geist –– who was subbing in for Hoda Kotb.
“Totaled the car. Total loss. Total loss as Henry [Hager] would like to say, total loss,” she explained, referring to her husband, Henry Hager, before adding that the accident happened “recently.”
The former First Daughter, 42, detailed that her car spun out of control because the ground was “icy.” And because she was born and raised in Dallas, Tex., she didn’t know how to handle the black ice.
“I had never heard of black ice. I didn’t know what would happen. I hit it. I was going a little too fast, too, spun into a tree, that was it,” she added.

Jenna also confessed to getting into over a dozen car accidents in combination with her sister, Barbara Bush, when they began to drive.

Jenna quickly clarified that they were “minor, minor fender benders,” and many of them “didn’t even require work done.”
“That might be the top five worst drivers of all time,” Geist quipped with Jenna admitting that she is “not a great driver.”
The broadcast journalist has never shied away from sharing personal details since she began co-hosting “Today with Hoda and Jenna” in 2019.

And despite giving into her daughter buying a few skincare products, Jenna recalled telling her, “I’m like, ‘Mila, because you don’t need it. Look at your beautiful skin. You don’t need it.'”
Aside from Mila, Jenna and her husband, Henry, also share daughter Poppy, 8, and son Hal, 4.
