Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck in Los Angeles on Aug. 20, 2024 — notably the same day of the second anniversary of their lavish Georgia wedding ceremony.

Per court documents obtained by Page Six, the “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” singer filed pro per, meaning by herself and without an attorney. She listed the date of separation as April 26, 2024.

Without the premarital agreement in place, any income or property accrued during their marriage can be considered “community property” — meaning both spouses can be viewed as equal owners of property, income or debt regardless of who purchased or earned it.

Since the “Gigli” co-stars did not have a prenuptial agreement, everything purchased and earned during their marriage is considered “community property.”

In May 2023, Affleck and Lopez purchased a $60 million Beverly Hills mansion. A month before the “I’m Real” singer filed for divorce, she and the “Deep Water” actor put the home on the market for $68 million.

It’s unclear whether the now-exes are planning to split the profits equally once the home is sold.

Affleck has since moved out of the home and purchased a $20 million bachelor pad in Pacific Palisades, Calif., while Lopez has been spotted browsing million dollar abodes on a few occasions.

In July 2024, the Blast reported that Lopez was gearing up to fight for half of Affleck’s $150 million fortune, claiming she footed the bill for many expenses during their marriage while the actor often “grumbled about spending money.”

That same month, sources told Radar Online that Lopez felt the movie producer “mooched” off her wealth during their time together.

“One of the little-known secrets is Jennifer paid for much of their marital expenses and now she feels he owes her. She’s adding up all those private jet bills she puts on her plastic, the hotels and meals, clothes, coffee runs, gas. The high cost of living was done on her dime. She paid the lion’s share for that $60 million mansion they bought, too,” the insider told the outlet.

“Ben took so much money out of her, at least that’s what she’s saying.”

In Lopez’s divorce filing, she waived spousal support and requested the court not give Affleck any as well.
