Once a family, always a family. That’s at least Jennifer Lopez’s mentality!
Just because Jen and her Gigli co-star Ben Affleck are divorcing doesn’t mean she’s leaving his kids, too. In fact, she and her “whole family” are keeping an open line of communication with them! On Wednesday, an insider told People:
“Jennifer keeps in touch with the Affleck kids. Her whole family loves them. She wants them to know that they can always reach out if they need anything at all.”
That’s so sweet! What a great momma figure.

Ben, of course, shares 18-year-old Violet, 15-year-old Fin, and 12-year-old Samuel with ex-wife Jennifer Garner — who along with the Justice League star, was reportedly caught off guard by their eldest child’s recent selfie with J.Lo’s sister Lynda. If you didn’t see it, Lynda visited the teen at Yale University over the weekend and shared a beaming selfie of the two of them. See (below):
According to sources, “Violet has a strong attachment to J.Lo and her family,” and is the one who “reached out” to Lynda to organize the visit. The parents apparently find their daughter’s decision “confusing,” but respect her right “to do as she pleases and spend time with who she wants to.”
As for how the Jenny from the Block singer is holding up beyond her relationship with the Affleck kiddos, the insider told People:
“Jennifer is doing well. She doesn’t dwell on the past. She’s so grateful for everything that she has. The divorce is still being worked out.”
We’re happy she’s happy and is keeping her heart open for the stepkids she formed bonds with!
