Jeremy Irvine Lands Starring Role Playing Gay Firefighter in Ballroom Dance Movie 'The Light Fantastic'

Jeremy Irvine has lined up an exciting new role!

The 34-year-old actor will star in the new British comedy The Light Fantastic, in which he will play a gay firefighter who pursues a career as a professional ballroom dancer.

The project is based on a true story and also stars the likes of Layton Williams, Rupert Everett and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett.

According to reporting from The Hollywood Reporter, the movie “follows Jason (Irvine), a gay firefighter in his 30s who aspires to become a professional ballroom dancer. Set in Blackpool, the story chronicles his journey of self-discovery as he challenges ballroom traditions under the watchful eye of his traditional instructor Reynolds (Everett).”

The Light Fantastic will be directed by Chris Cottam and features choreography from Mark and Shirley Ballas, a mother-son duo from Dancing With the Stars and Strictly Come Dancing.
