Jerry Lawler states that his career in WWE has probably ended.
On May 6, PWInsider reported that WWE had not renewed Jerry Lawler’s broadcasting contract, but he would still have a Legends Deal. Lawler’s time in WWE dated back to 1992, and he had been a legendary run as part of the commentary team during the Attitude Era. He continued to make sporadic appearances over the years. Lawler suffered a stroke in February 2023. He appeared in front of a live crowd at RAW in Memphis in August and in a pre-taped video for NXT in November.
Speaking with Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Jerry Lawler stated that his career with WWE has “probably ended”, and he noted that he was getting over the effects of his stroke.
“One other thing that a lot of people wonder about, my career has probably ended with the WWE,” Lawler said. “it’s just one of those things that goes with my getting over with all the stuff that happened with the stroke and it was — my just sitting behind a desk and doing it, commentating on a match again was extremely difficult.”
Jerry Lawler recently commented on his health following his stroke. Check out his comments here.
