Jessica Alba is taking a step back from her sustainability-focused lifestyle company, The Honest Company.
In a press release published Tuesday, the actress announced she will be leaving her role as the brand’s chief creative officer but will stay on board as a director to help guide the company’s future growth.
“When I created The Honest Company, I set out to change the consumer product industry and I can proudly say, we did just that,” Alba, 42, said in the release. “Honest has been a true labor of love for me – one that showed me what’s possible when you infuse purpose into business.”

“As I transition, I look forward to contributing to the company’s success in my role on the board of directors as I redirect my focus on new projects and passions.”
The “Fantastic Four” star founded the brand — which focuses on consciousness and transparency — in 2012. She announced her departure after the company reported record profits for the fourth quarter of 2023. Honest sells baby products, beauty items, apparel, household care and more.

Alba also took to her Instagram page Tuesday to express her sincerest gratitude for the experiences she’s collected as Honest’s founder and the people she’s worked with along the way.
“Building Honest has been a true labor of love. From the first concept book I pitched to my friends in Mommy and Me class, to ringing the bell at Nasdaq with my family by my side – this journey has been the ride of a lifetime, one that only existed in my wildest dreams,” she gushed.
She went on to thank her Honest team for its “unwavering commitment” to the company’s vision and her customers for their continued patronage.
Alba also shared a heartfelt Instagram post on Tuesday that included throwback photos from her time with the brand. “It actually reminds me a lot of raising kids: When you think you’ve got it figured out, a whole other thing [happens], and you’re like, ‘Whoa, OK, here we go,'” she explained.
