Jey Uso is going to the next round of the WWE King of the Ring tournament.
The WWE King of the Ring tournament began on the May 6 episode of WWE RAW. Finn Balor was scheduled to face Drew McIntyre in the opening round. However, ahead of the show, WWE announced that McIntyre was not cleared to compete. As a result, Jey Uso would be taking his place.
Uso and Balor battled back and forth in a hard-fought match. Balor’s Judgment Day stablemates were not at ringside, so the two stars were left on their own. However, in the closing moments, Drew McIntyre came out through the crowd and distracted Uso. Still, Uso persevered and pinned Balor with a Spear.
Monday’s episode of WWE RAW will feature two more first-round matchups. The SmackDown bracket will begin on the May 10 episode of WWE SmackDown.
The RAW bracket can be seen here.
WrestleZone will have coverage of the tournament as it continues.
