A couple of months ago, hell had frozen over as CM Punk made his surprise return to WWE. Recently Jey Uso opened up about the return.
The former WWE Undisputed Tag Team Champion was interviewed by TNT Sports. During the interview, Jey Uso shared that he is excited to see Punk return to the Stamford-based promotion.
Mr. Main Event also mentioned that Punk always treated the Usos with respect and he was convinced that both the brothers don’t need anyone to teach because they are well experienced considering their family lineage.
“So man, like I said Uce, to me man, Punk’s always been like, since I came in that locker room even ten years ago. It was, he was always just like a regular guy, like one of the boys. He was never trying to Big Dog us or none of that. I feel like, we knew he was genuine people, real people. ‘Oh man, they the Usos. They going to work hard, I know their family. I ain’t got to spit no knowledge. They know what’s up.’ And then feel like he left and when he comes back like we’re different characters now.
“And I know he sees that. Like… Yo.. It’s like, ‘Y’all did good here. I could tell this y’all s*** now type. Y’all earned it.’ But he’s always going to be an OG to me Uce. That’s just a respect thing we have. So, I’m glad he’s back Uce. I mean, he bring the media right? He bring the money right? This is what we here for Uce. Entertainment. You can never say no in wrestling right? Especially WWE. You never know what you’re gonna get Uce. But I feel like, man Uce, if we just listen to the people, like who cares what’s happening Uce? The people love CM Punk man. That’s just what it comes down to Uce. So, let’s run it bruh. Bring it. Let’s… Hell yeah, bruh. Let’s do it,” Jey Uso said.
Jey Uso would love to wrestle CM Punk
During the same interview, Mr. Main Event also shared that he would love to square up against the self-proclaimed Best in the World. He also mentioned that he considers himself to be great on the microphone and would love to have a promo battle against CM Punk.
“Hell yeah [wrestling CM Punk in a one-on-one match]. Then I could put my skills to the test too Uce. Because I feel like I can go on the mic too. Like, I feel comfortable on there. I feel like I’m probably one of the top promos in WWE. I feel like, I can go. And so, to put me against a man who’s known for the talking, you know man, hell yeah! I can’t do it against Roddy Piper no more. The legends like that… So hell yeah, I would love to do it. Him and Drew had like a promo recently man and I was like, ‘Damn man! Hell yeah!.”
