Jigawa Tanker Explosion: Tambuwal Commiserates With Families Of Victims

A devastating petrol tanker explosion in Majiya town, Taura Local Government Area of Jigawa State, has claimed the lives of scores of people, prompting an outpouring of grief and calls for change.

Former Governor, Aminu Tambuwal on Friday, expressed his sorrow over the incident, through a post on Instagram.

He said: “My heartfelt condolences to the government and the good people of Jigawa State over the tragic tanker explosion at Majiya, which has claimed many lives and left others in critical condition. This devastating incident is a painful reminder of the need to prioritize safety in all aspects of transportation across our country.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims during this incredibly difficult time. I also pray for the swift recovery of those who are still in the hospital and for the strength of the communities that are deeply affected.

“May Allah (SWT) grant the departed eternal peace and bring comfort to the grieving. As we mourn this loss, it is also crucial that we take steps to prevent such tragedies in the future. There must be an urgent and comprehensive review of how petroleum products are transported in Nigeria, with stronger safety regulations and enforcement to safeguard lives and property.
