Jimmy Kimmel, an “insufferable nonsense propaganda puppet?”
That’s what Elon Musk called him on X yesterday, and the ABC late night host didn’t take it on the chin.
“At “least my children like me,” Kimmel said during last night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! monologue, referencing Musk’s estranged relationship with at least one of his children.
Kimmel then launched into a direct rebuttal to the propaganda charge: “The guy who paid people a million dollars a day to vote for Donald Trump is calling me a propaganda puppet. Listen Kermit, you bought Twitter. You bought a social media platform that is literally a propaganda machine.
“Let me tell you something,” Kimmel continued, “if I spent two weeks trying to come up with a four-word description of Elon Musk, I don’t think I could do better than ‘insufferable nonsense propaganda puppet.’”
Kimmel then noted that Musk has made the “propaganda” charge against such major news outlets as The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, NPR and the AP, which, as Kimmel said, Musk once said stands for “Associated Propaganda.”
After joking that Musk has effectively spoiled an upcoming reboot of the Kimmel show – which was to have been called Insufferable Nonsense Propaganda Puppet – Kimmel congratulated Musk on his newfound status with the president-elect. “I’m sure his little hand will fit nicely into your sock hole,” Kimmel said.
Watch the monologue above. The Musk comments started at the 3:40 mark.
