Jinder Mahal: 3MB Are More Over In People’s Minds Than Reality

Jinder Mahal disagrees that 3MB were as over as people think during their run.

The former WWE Champion was put together with Heath Slater and Drew McIntyre back in 2012. The trio had the gimmick of a rock band, despite none of the members playing any instruments during this time.

3MB disbanded in 2014 when McIntyre and Mahal were released by the WWE. Since then, those two have become WWE Champions, while Heath Slater has found success in both the WWE and TNA since then.

Jinder Mahal spoke with Straight Talk Wrestling, where he was asked about his run with 3MB. The former WWE Champion denied the group was as over as people think, and that it is what they did after they broke up that made the trio special.

He revealed that the success came from working hard despite being put in that position. They looked at it more like an opportunity, and something to motivate them, rather than being something of a punishment.

“I think we’re more over now, like in people’s memory, than we were at that time. I think what really makes it special is what we did after 3MB — Heath Slater with the Tag Team Championship with Rhino and the kids, and getting a job, amazing, very memorable stuff. Drew McIntyre, obviously one of the best professional wrestlers on Earth, not only in WWE but on the planet. And then myself winning the WWE Championship, United States Championship, and 24/7 Championship.

So I think just the success we had after 3MB when nothing was expected from us — we made a point to work hard and succeed. We weren’t going to look at this as a demotion. If anything, it was motivation to take us to the next level, and that’s what we all did.”
