This past weekend was the much-anticipated Major League Wrestling Pay-per-view Battle Riot VII. The main event of the night was the Battle Riot match, where 40 men compete in a match to win the MLW World Heavyweight Championship. The self-proclaimed King of Bros, Matt Riddle, walked into the match as champion and had to deal with several surprise entrants.

That included two former WWE Superstars. One was former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Jinder Mahal, who now goes by the name Raj Dhesi. The other was WWE Hall of Famer, Rob Van Dam.

The Battle Riot match kicked off with the first entrant. It was a returning Alex Hammerstone. Entrant number two was a big surprise for the fans as it was the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Jinder Mahal. Mahal put up a tough fight. Lasted for a while and also managed to eliminate Virus via pinfall. Finally, Mahal was eliminated by Alex Hammerstone.

As the match was nearing its end, it seemed like Matt Riddle’s hopes of retaining his title were fading. He was in the ring being mobbed by Saint Laurent’s henchmen Donovan Dijak, Bishop Dyer (F.K.A Baron Corbin), and Mads Krule Krügger. But he was rescued by entrant number 40, it was none other than former ECW World Champion Rob Van Dam.

RVD helped Riddle eliminate Dijak, Dyer, and Krügger. In the end, after some back-and-forth, Riddle managed to eliminate RVD and retain his title.
