Jinder Mahal believes WWE needs to have more South Asian performers on its roster given that they make up a quarter of the world’s population.
The former WWE Superstar took to social media this afternoon to respond to a report that the company is now aware of the lack of representation for black male wrestlers on premium live events. Mahal stated that WWE only has one South Asian talent (Akam of AOP) signed to the company in 2024, tweeting out:
“There is only one South Asian currently in WWE (@SunnyDhinsa). With over 2 Billion population, 1/4 people in the world are South Asian. Not a single talent in NXT/Performance Center. This is an issue. I’ve had my time. Here are 3 talents WWE could sign – @MustafaAli_X @RealRohanRaja @BollywoodBoyz,” Jinder Mahal said in a series of posts.
A short time later Mahal returned to social media to remind fans that in 2021 WWE had ten South Asians signed compared to only one in 2024.
Mahal’s posts certainly shine a light on a staggering statistic that many fans probably aren’t aware of.
