Joao Felix makes his decision over Barcelona future: ‘I want to stay’

Barcelona forward Joao Felix has once again expressed his deep admiration for Barcelona, while also emphasising that he believes he has the potential to win the Ballon d’Or in the future.

Felix has made it clear that he wants to stay at Barcelona for the next season. However, he also acknowledged that this decision is not solely in his hands; it depends on the agreements between the clubs. 

Despite this, the forward did not hesitate to express his affection for Barcelona once more. 

In a heartfelt conversation with The Nude Project, the Portuguese forward revealed that Barcelona has been his favourite club since he was a child, and he truly wishes to continue playing there. 

Yet, he also recognised that his future at Barcelona hinges on various factors beyond his control.

“I love Barça and I want to stay,” the Portuguese was quoted by SPORT

“I am on loan and it’s not going to depend on me. I have always said that I love Barça, that it is the club of my childhood and I want to stay. It depends on many other things and we will see what can happen,” he added.

Felix shared that he had to make significant sacrifices to join Barcelona. Despite these sacrifices, he has no regrets because playing for Barcelona has always been his dream since he was a child.

“I had to give up a lot of things to be able to come here, but I don’t regret it. I have fulfilled one of my childhood dreams.”

Regarding his aspirations, Felix confidently stated that he possesses the skills necessary to win the Ballon d’Or someday. 

“I have the qualities to win the Ballon d’Or one day.”

However, he acknowledged that the leading contenders for this year’s award are Vinicius Jr and Kylian Mbappe.

Xavi over Simeone

Felix also discussed the differences between Xavi and Diego Simeone, expressing a clear preference for the former Barcelona coach. 

He praised Xavi while highlighting his exceptional personal qualities, saying, “They are different, I think Xavi is closer to people, he has more of a human side, he cares a little more about the players. 

“That’s the difference because they are both passionate. Xavi’s approach to people is better handled by Xavi,”
