At 20 years old João Neves saw his career take off with a €60 million transfer to Paris Saint-Germain. In Portugal, the departure of the Benfica nugget caused a lot of ink to flow, with many accusing the Aguias of having let the midfielder slip away too quickly. Others even believe that the sale price is too low compared to the player’s potential. Neves, for his part, laughs at all these comments.

“When it comes to opinions, everyone has their own, I have mine and I’m going to keep it to myself. I don’t know if it was the right moment or not, the fact is that I arrived and I gave everything, and if I had stayed here (at Benfica) it would have been the same. The (PSG) team is fantastic, it gave me the confidence to demonstrate my qualities”he declared this Tuesday at a press conference.
