Benfica prodigy Joao Neves will end up joining Paris SG. But the deal is not yet completely sealed.
Barring any catastrophe, Joao Neves, the rising star of Portuguese football, will indeed wear the colours of PSG next season. His transfer is about to be confirmed. There are only a few small details that are still under discussion.
The Portuguese international is preparing to join the French capital, where a five-year contract awaits him. His arrival is expected in the coming days. On Friday, he went to the Benfica training center to say goodbye to his teammates. The divorce is therefore complete.
PSG broke the bank for Joao Neves
Joao Neves will join the French champions, where he will find several of his compatriots like Danilo Pereira or Vitinha. But, it will not be without compensation. Paris will have to pay a sum that would approach €100M for his services according to what RMC Sport reports. Once considered, a financial arrangement involving Renato Sanches has been ruled out.
Joao Neves is considered one of the most promising footballers in Portugal. This midfielder was also in Manchester United’s sights. However, and especially considering his young age (19 years old), we will certainly have to wait before judging and deciding whether the big investment made was worth it or not for the Parisians.
