Ahead of tonight’s premiere of their newest film The Electric State on Netflix, directors and AGBO cofounders Anthony and Joe Russo got their hands dirty this weekend. They were honored with a handprint and footprint ceremony at the TCL Chinese Theatre Hollywood. It comes at a busy time for the Russos, who’ve clocked over $7 billion in global box office, making them the third highest-grossing directors in history. They will add to their TV work this fall with the second season of the spy series Citadel, and beyond The Electric State, they will start production in April on two more Avengers sequels for Marvel and Disney.
Onlookers included Guardians of the Galaxy and The Electric State star Chris Pratt, Alison Brie, Yvette Nicole Brown, Bryan Lourd, Bela Bajaria, and Marvel’s Kevin Feige and Louis D’Esposito. From AGBO, there was screenwriters Chris Markus and Stephen McFeely; Donald Mustard, Chris Brearton, Angela Russo-Otstot, Dominic Hughes, and Jake Aust.
“The very nature of my brother’s and my relationship is collaboration,” Joe Russo said. “And we know that this moment is as much your moment as it is our moment. Because no story gets told without the help of dozens of dedicated, passionate, partners working hand in hand, building a story together, brick by brick.”
