The WWE Universe has seen a lot of people come into the announcement booth from outside the company. Some of them haven’t been the best success stories, while others were able to take to it like a duck to water. Joe Tessitore impressed fans on WWE RAW, but he has a new job assignment.

With WWE Raw moving to Netflix on Monday, changes are coming to the broadcast team. Pat McAfee will return to the announcer desk, joined by Michael Cole.

Joe Tessitore had been calling WWE Raw with Wade Barrett during the second half of 2024. During an interview with Jimmy Traina on the SI Media podcast, Triple H confirmed that Tessitore will now move to WWE SmackDown.

“Yes,” Triple H said when asked if Tessitore would be on WWE SmackDown. This confirms that Joe Tess will stay on WWE programming after the move. He will also be featured on the RAW post show.

While speaking about Joe Tessitore’s work, Triple H went on to praise the famous announcer, because he was already a fan of his work. Even before Joe was with WWE, they have become friends.

“He’s such a massive fan. Even before he was doing anything with us, Joe would text me on stuff. We became friends through Nick. He would be telling me, ‘I saw on this podcast,’ and I don’t even know what he’s talking about, and it’s my job to know what he’s talking about.”

In addition to his WWE role, Tessitore also calls college football for ESPN. He has a lot of things to do, but he obviously loves his new WWE home.

WWE is moving RAW to Netflix, and that will come with another change to the announce team. Pat McAfee has already confirmed that he is on his way back to WWE for the big Netflix move. We will have to see how long he can keep that up with all of his other job assignments.
